Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched four new voice-only prepaid plans in India, aiming to provide subscribers with an affordable option focused strictly on calling and text messaging. The new lineup caters directly to customers who do not require mobile data bundles, offering an economical choice for basic cellular connectivity.
The new voice-focused prepaid offerings start at Rs 179, which grants users 25 days of plan validity. Under this entry-level tier, subscribers get unlimited voice calling alongside 300 SMS benefits for the duration of the cycle. In total, Vi has rolled out four distinct voice-only options designed to deliver dedicated calling and SMS services without requiring users to pay for unused data allowances.
This rollout comes as Vi moves to comply with regulatory orders from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), which mandated the separation of calling and data services in mobile prepaid plans. By decoupling internet data from standard voice packs, the operator offers a practical alternative tailored to feature phone users and customers who simply need reliable calling facilities.
With prices starting at Rs 179, these four voice-only prepaid packs are now available to Vi customers nationwide. The introduction of these standalone plans gives budget-conscious users greater flexibility to choose mobile tariffs that match their specific communication requirements.
