Huawei has officially launched the Pura 90 Plus in China, expanding its premium smartphone lineup with a new feature-packed flagship contender. Sitting firmly in the high-end segment, the new device aims to challenge top rivals by focusing on mobile photography innovations and custom hardware. Prices for the phone start at CNY 5,499, placing it as a competitive entry point into Huawei’s top-tier phone catalog.
The smartphone centers its visual experience around a 6.8-inch LTPO Quad Curved OLED display that gently tapers along all four borders. Utilizing LTPO panel technology, the screen intelligently scales its refresh rate depending on onscreen activity, dropping down to conserve power during static viewing and speeding up for smooth scrolling and animations during active media consumption.
Camera hardware is the primary highlight, led by a 50MP 1-inch main sensor featuring optical image stabilization and a mechanical variable aperture. Incorporating a full 1-inch sensor allows the device to capture significantly more physical light than standard mobile camera sensors, yielding cleaner images and reduced noise in tough night scenes. Furthermore, the variable lens opening provides true hardware-level depth of field, enabling authentic subject isolation and background bokeh without relying heavily on software portrait filters.
Powering the phone is Huawei’s internal Kirin 9025 chipset, coupled with a base configuration offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. To keep everything running through long days, the company fitted a large 5,700mAh battery—giving it a clear capacity edge over the standard 5,000mAh cells found in most competing flagships. Available now in China starting at CNY 5,499, Huawei has not yet announced a timeline for a potential global release, leaving international availability uncertain for now.
