Samsung W27 Launches in China with 8-Inch Display and 200MP Camera

Samsung has officially launched the W27 foldable in China, positioning the new flagship in the ultra-luxury pricing tier. Designed for buyers who want an uncompromising premium experience, the device features a refined two-tone finish with eye-catching gold accents. It ships with Android 17 and Samsung’s One UI 9 custom skin, setting a new bar for the brand’s exclusive luxury hardware line.

The foldable centers around a large 8-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner screen, complemented by a 6.5-inch FHD+ cover display for everyday interactions. Both displays utilize adaptive refresh rate technology to adjust dynamically based on screen content, dropping low to save battery during static viewing and climbing up to 120Hz during fast scrolling or gaming. This ensures users get smooth visuals without draining power unnecessarily across both viewing surfaces.

For photography, the phone packs a high-resolution 200MP primary camera alongside a massive 1-inch sensor featuring variable aperture capabilities. A 1-inch sensor pulls in significantly more light than typical mobile camera sensors, which drastically improves low-light performance by reducing image noise and enhancing dynamic range in dark scenes. The variable aperture allows the lens to physically open or close, giving photography enthusiasts authentic mechanical depth of field and soft background blur without relying on artificial portrait mode processing.

Powering the device is a Kirin processor paired with a 5,700mAh battery, providing a noticeable capacity boost over standard 5,000mAh cells found in competing foldables. The base configuration starts at 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, priced at CNY 5,499. As is customary for Samsung’s luxury W series, the W27 is slated to remain a China-exclusive release, with global availability unlikely in the near future.
